I need a working prototype of a portable SIM-bonding unit that merges multiple 4G LTE links to deliver a single, higher-bandwidth connection and tunnels all traffic through an IPSec VPN. Scope of work • Hardware: board design, enclosure, integrated high-gain antenna, SIM tray/slots (minimum 4), battery and power-management circuitry. • Firmware: real-time link aggregation logic, automatic cell reselection, fail-over, IPSec client with configurable policies, and a simple captive portal or serial console for first-time setup. • Management software: web UI plus optional CLI/REST API to show bonded throughput, per-SIM stats, signal strength and VPN status, with secure remote firmware-upgrade capability. • Documentation: schematics, BOM, mechanical drawings, firmware source, build instructions, and a quick-start guide. • Validation: lab tests demonstrating bonded bandwidth, seamless hand-over between SIMs, and a stable IPSec tunnel during mobility. Packet-loss, latency and throughput logs must accompany the final report. Acceptance criteria 1. Device boots in under 40 s and automatically brings up an IPSec tunnel. 2. At least 100 Mbps aggregated downlink achievable under ideal radio conditions. 3. VPN reconnection in <5 s after any single SIM drop. 4. Complete documentation and source deliverables provided. Preferred toolchain includes OpenWrt or Yocto for firmware, strongSwan for IPSec, and KiCad/Altium for PCB, but I’m open to alternatives if they meet the same goals. Continuous collaboration through weekly progress calls will keep the project on track until a tested prototype and full handover package are delivered.

Hi, I can help develop the portable 4G SIM bonding prototype with multi-SIM LTE connectivity, IPSec VPN tunneling, web management UI, enclosure planning, and full handover documentation. The best solution is to build this in a practical prototype phase using OpenWrt/Yocto-compatible hardware, multiple LTE modems, strongSwan IPSec, bonding/failover logic, and a lightweight dashboard showing per-SIM signal, throughput, VPN status, and link health. I’m comfortable with embedded Linux, OpenWrt, LTE modem integration, SIM failover, IPSec/strongSwan, VPN routing, web UI/CLI tools, PCB/enclosure planning, antenna selection, power management, network testing, and technical documentation. Deliverables include: * Hardware architecture * SIM/modem integration plan * Battery/power design notes * IPSec VPN setup * Link bonding/failover logic * Web UI for status monitoring * Firmware/source handover * Throughput/latency test logs * Quick-start guide * Validation report Prototype parts, LTE modules, antenna, battery, PCB fabrication, and enclosure costs can be confirmed separately before purchase. Best regards Ankit

Hi, I have experience with Linux networking, VPNs, embedded Linux (OpenWrt), and LTE-based networking solutions. Your project is ambitious, and I'd be happy to help build a reliable prototype. Before we proceed, I have a few questions: * Do you already have a hardware platform/modem in mind (Quectel, Telit, Sierra, etc.), or should I select one? * Do you need true packet-level bonding, or is session/load balancing acceptable? * Will you provide the IPSec VPN server, or should I configure both client and server? * What is your expected budget and target timeline for the prototype? Looking forward to discussing the details and finding the best approach for your project.

Hi, New on Freelancer — 20 years of development experience behind us. We're taking our first few projects here at a fraction of our normal rate purely to build our review history. You get senior agency work at junior pricing; we get a review. Straight trade. integrating multiple 4G LTE links into a cohesive unit often requires careful attention to the load balancing algorithm to ensure optimal bandwidth distribution. I'd start by examining the firmware's capability to handle dynamic link management and IPSec VPN tunneling. What's your target date for having the prototype ready for testing?

Hi I can help you develop the portable four-SIM bonding unit as an integrated hardware, Linux firmware, management and validation platform. The key technical issue is that four local LTE connections cannot provide true packet level bonding without a remote aggregation endpoint that reorders traffic and presents one stable public connection. I would solve this with a companion bonding gateway, multipath tunnels over independent LTE modems, intelligent scheduling, and an IPSec policy designed around the aggregated path. The hardware will include four SIM interfaces, suitable LTE modules, isolated RF paths, carefully positioned antennas, power sequencing, thermal management and protected battery charging. The management interface will provide throughput, signal, modem, tunnel, failover, logging, configuration and signed firmware update controls. I will deliver the prototype, design sources, software, gateway configuration, manufacturing documentation, and test evidence covering bandwidth, mobility, failover, latency and packet loss. Thanks, Bohdan Question Will you provide the remote bonding server? Which countries, carriers, and LTE bands must be supported? What battery runtime and enclosure size are required? Should IPSec terminate at the bonding gateway or another VPN endpoint?

Hello, Your project is a sophisticated networking and embedded systems challenge, and I understand you're looking for a complete portable SIM-bonding prototype rather than just firmware. I have experience with embedded systems, Linux-based networking, C/C++, PCB collaboration, communication protocols, and wireless device development. My approach would be to build a modular solution using OpenWrt/Yocto, integrate multiple LTE modems, configure strongSwan IPSec with automatic tunnel establishment and fast failover, implement link aggregation, and develop a secure web dashboard (with optional REST API) for monitoring throughput, per-SIM statistics, signal strength, VPN status, and OTA firmware updates. I also emphasize clean documentation, maintainable source code, and thorough validation testing. I understand the importance of meeting your acceptance criteria, including booting in under 40 seconds, achieving 100+ Mbps aggregated throughput under ideal conditions, VPN recovery within 5 seconds after a SIM drop, and providing complete source code and documentation. A few questions: • Have you selected the LTE modem modules and main processor? • Is server-side bonding already available, or should that be included? • Do you require true packet-level bonding or intelligent multi-WAN load balancing? I'd be happy to discuss the architecture and provide a realistic development roadmap. I look forward to collaborating on this project.
