We outsourced the development of a wireless device. We hired someone to develop a project for us and the project has failed to meet a critical specification. The project involves a USB receiver and USB transmitter. The transmitter has multiple inputs and multiple outputs. When momentary contact switches are wired to the inputs then the transmitter 'sends' a signal to the USB receiver and then a software program displays the incoming value. The software also 'capable of sending specific values back to the transmitter which turn on 3v outputs.
The devices fully work but only at a distance of about 1.5 meters. The chip's manufacturer claims that a distance of 100 meters can actually be achieved however with the trial and error of many antenna styles we have never been able to achieve more than greater than 30 meters.
Prototype devices were sent to the transceiver chip manufacturer and the chip manufacturer says that the boards are correct in design but that the antenna needs improvement and so does the programming firmware.
Now, we have all documents and files for production to produce the device as well as all technical notes for theory of operation and firmware source code. We need someone to review the technical notes, revise where needed and supply us 10 transmitter prototypes and 3 USB receivers no later than Jan. 10th 20123. We are in the USA and the 13 total prototypes cannot arrive any later than Jan. 10th 2013. A redesign of the board may potentially take to long to redesign.
The transceiver chip used is the nRF204L01 and is a [url removed, login to view] chip and the project should continue use of this chip because a redesign of the board may potentially
All technical notes must be furnished upon request, including a test program that you will need to make to test the product. We will need the source code for the test program and the test program should be written in .NET. There should not be any secrets at all.
If you have a manufacturing facility, or connections with a manufacturing facility we will consider a production price quote from your facility or connections with another facility. If you do business with another facility we will need to know the details of the 3rd party facility (name of company, address, etc).
We only require 50 Meters distance. If greater can be achieved then it will be greatly appreciated, but 50 Meters distance should be the minimum even though the chip manufacturer claims a total 100 meters is achievable with the the transceiver chip.
We have many other projects as well, so your efficiency and timeliness will be greatly rewarded.
