We are a university research team developing characterisation methods for solar cells.
For one of our research projects we need to short circuit a power supply at a speed of <1 us. The power supply will deliver a current of up to 40 A and a voltage of up to 60 V to a solar module and we need to short circuit the power supply to switch off the current as fast as possible.
If there is another way to achieve this result we would appreciate help with this.
Outcomes of this project would be a suitable method of achieving our switching requirement + an electronic circuit design that is suitable to perform this task.
If the project is completed successfully there is also the potential of a follow on project to actually built the circuit.
