Assignment: Generate a final report in a pdf. based on the Value Stream Map (VSM). The report should include these phases: Phase 1: Begin and include a Project Charter – (Template will be given)
Phase 2: Include completed attendance record – (Template will be given)
Phase 3: Apply a brief business case scenario: e.g. describe why you are performing the VSM from a machine shop perspective. Assume you are newly hired lean engineer.
Phase 4: a. One statement: define SIPOC. b. One statement: state the purpose. c. Create a SIPOC using MS Visio
Phase 5: a. One Statement: define process flowchart, b. One statement: state the purpose. c. Watch and create a process flowchart of the tensile sample machine shop process. d. generate the process flowchart using MS Visio.
Phase 6: a. One statement: define VSM. b. One statement: state the purpose. c. Generate a Value Stream Map (VSM) for the tensile samples using the MS Visio. In this phase you are creating the VSM after producing the process flowchart. The VSM map will provide crucial data.
Phase 7: Analyze the VSM map and identify potential improvements or cost savings areas
Phase 8: One statement: a. define balanced scorecard. B. One statement: state the purpose. c. Report the findings using a Balanced Scorecard’s four topics.
Phase 9: Place all documents in a [url removed, login to view] and then convert to a pdf for the final project. Hand in the pdf.
