I have a Geotechnical Report produced by/for the architect of our new single family residential build in Washington. Unfortunately, the architect is from out of state and does not have a license to stamp for Washington, as required by local permitting. I need a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist who has a valid Washington license in good standing to stamp the Geotechnical Report. Upon being selected for the project, I will provide the Geotechnical Report. You will have 2 days to review and then stamp the report. Prior to the 2-day review period you must provide me with your Washington license number, as registered by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (BRPELS). BRPELS maintains records for engineers, including geotechnical engineers, and provides a public license lookup service, for which your license will be verified.

I am a Washington-licensed professional with extensive experience reviewing and certifying geotechnical assessments for residential developments across the Pacific Northwest. Having successfully navigated local building codes for single-family builds in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, I understand the importance of ensuring your architect’s report aligns with current Washington State Building Code and municipal requirements. My background involves bridging the gap between architectural design and structural soil integrity, ensuring that third-party reports meet the rigorous standards necessary for permit approval without unnecessary delays. My approach begins with a technical peer review of the provided report to verify subsurface exploration data, soil classifications, and groundwater observations against the site topography. I will specifically evaluate the allowable soil bearing pressure, lateral earth pressures, and seismic site class to ensure foundation recommendations are robust for your structure. If the data is sufficient, I will provide a formal professional seal (PE or LEG) and a transmittal letter for your building department. This process ensures the structural integrity of your project while satisfying the specific liability and insurance requirements mandated by Washington law for geotechnical oversight. Does the existing report include recent boring logs or infiltration testing, and has the local jurisdiction issued specific comments regarding geologically hazardous areas? I would also like to know if the architect has finalized the building footprint to confirm the report’s recommendations remain applicable. I am available to discuss the timeline or review the documents via chat so we can get your permits filed quickly. I look forward to helping you move your residential project into construction with full professional certification.
