We design wall panels and other building components that are used to construct homes and buildings (Building System)..
There are approximately 15 main components (Components) that make up our Building System; all components are designed by us - such a wall panel or a window or other prefabricated component.
We subcontract manufacture of ALL Components to other Suppliers.
We use a 3D drawing program called Sketchup to draw the house or building.
Sketchup has a library and we have populated the Sketchup library with drawings of each of the Components used in our Building System. Each Component has a unique ITEM CODE
Once we finish the drawing of a house or building in SketchUp; Sketchup can export a CSV file containing all the Item Codes of the Components in the building.
Note - the CSV export from SketchUp: -
a. Only lists all the Components in the building by ITEM Code - no other information is in the CSV export; and
b. The CSV does not calculate the number of identical Components. For example, if there are 10 identical Components in the CSV file ; then the file will have 10 lines of the same Item Code
This project is to build an Excel workbook that can import the CSV file of Components Item Codes from SketchUp auto fill Purchase Order templates (in the workbook) to our Suppliers for all the Components for each house or building
