# Tournament Prize Distribution Formula

Produce a formula that calculates a cash prize distribution among the top 33% of the participants who entered into a contest. However, the distribution needs to deliver a greater cash prize towards the top for the higher finishing contestants.

The formula is for a progressive jackpot tournament so it should work correctly and adjust to any amount of contestants. Below is an example of the tournament distribution that your model should fit into.

What is the formula that will produce this type of distribution for all places paid and fill in the remaining places not listed above?

The formula HAS to work universally to accommodate any amount of participants. The above info should be used ONLY to check your work and was taken off a website that is using the formula that I am looking for.

Please input the data into an excel spreadsheet and fill in the remaining places and indicate the exact formula so that I can incorporate into my own tournament listings.

This should be easy for anyone that has already done tournaments and prizes and should be readily accessible, I just can't figure out the formula on my own. Since this is probably on hand I wouldn't expect it to cost more than \$10, just generate a couple bucks off your already hard earned work.
