Utilziing Excel spreadsheet to generate Word reports (PDF)

I have been working with MS Office for 15 years. Just a couple of questions: Would the charts/graphs/tables in MS word be updated after they are first imported into word? Do you expect the format or data nature changes frequently? You would appreciate that the graphs/tables/charts in word will use MS excel as base application.

Hi, Your excel spreadsheet sample is a blank one. What I understand is you would need an automation to generate report with some graphs from data in the excel spreadsheet into a word or pdf file (what would you prefer)? It would be better if we create the automation code in the excel file. Send me the XL raw data sample and I can try to give you a working XL automation as an example. Cheers - Daniel

Hi, There are multiple levels of automation that I can suggest, depending on the budget and the variety of surveys. But without knowing the exact specification, here are my suggestions: 1) Once the data is in Excel and the graphs are populated we encode them in a clever way (named ranges, tags with incremental numbers) to specify the order in which they should appear on the PDF 2) We predefine templates (to preserve formatting) of most common elements - e.g. header + value horizontal table and we add code to automatically populate these and grow/shrink based on the number of replies 3) We can even create additional tools, like automatic chart creation / formatting I've worked as a reporting analyst and performed a lot of automation like the one you requested Please let me know if you would like me to work with you Regard Morris
