I run my own business called Monkey & Mum, which specialises in baby friendly jewellery for mothers.
My pieces are all handmade (no sewing machine) from natural materials and include no small parts. They are all unique one-off pieces which are made to a very high standard.
The majority of my orders are custom, however increasing demand has me preparing to release an ethically sourced ready-to-wear range, which is where you come in.
Monkey & Mum is growing very quickly, so I am needing someone on board asap to help me meet this demand now, and in the many years to come.
I am seeking to train someone in how to create two of my designs, with the plan to expand into the full range within the next six months.
I have recently explored a Fair Trade organisation in India, but found the pieces were made by several people of different levels of skill, and they were unable to meet the standard I required. I have attached some pictures of problem areas in the pieces they created (left column), and what I would expect (right). Obviously I do not expect that this level of quality will be instant, but a willingness to work towards achieving it would be expected. I have also attached a photo which shows the two designs I would begin training you in.
Ethical production is a must.
Once a satisfactory level of workmanship was achieved. I would begin by ordering 50 pieces (30 in the three strand design, and 20 in the single strand), with the aim to increase this for regular future orders.
