I’m putting together a line of athletic performance wear made specifically for runners and need an experienced apparel engineer to turn my concepts into production-ready pieces. Every garment has to stay true to three core qualities—lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking—so fabric selection and construction techniques will be critical from the start. Here’s the workflow I have in mind: we’ll refine the silhouette together, lock in functional pattern details that ensure modest yet streamlined coverage, and then translate everything into complete tech packs (measurements, graded specs, BOM, stitching, and trim call-outs). If you work in CLO 3D, Optitex, or a similar platform, even better; the ability to run quick virtual fit checks will speed things up and cut sampling costs. I’m looking for: • Material recommendations that balance feather-light feel with durability and sweat management • Pattern engineering optimized for running biomechanics (think ventilation zones, chafe-free seams, and pocket placement that won’t bounce) • Manufacture-ready tech packs and, if possible, a first prototype with annotated fit notes Once we hit the agreed acceptance criteria—accurate patterns, clear construction guidelines, and validated fit—I’ll green-light the final files for hand-off to my factory. If you’re confident in high-performance fabric engineering and tech wear detailing, let’s bring this gear to life.

With my deep understanding of both 2D and 3D design paired with my manufacturing skills, I am uniquely equipped to bring your running sportswear line to life. I have proficiency in softwares such as CLO 3D, Optitex, and more; these will enable us to conduct virtual fit checks efficiently, reducing costs associated with sampling. Furthermore, I've managed various aspects of design including pattern engineering which optimizes apparels for biomechanics. I can create detailed tech packs encompassing measuresments, graded specs and BOMs ensuring accurate patterns and construction guidelines.

Hi Melih S., Just last week I completed a similar task successfully, so I can get started on this without any ramp-up time. 1) What performance targets should we design to (GSM per garment, air permeability CFM or RET/MVTR, abrasion/pilling thresholds, and any anti-odor or DWR requirements)? 2) What are the pocket payload/placement specs (phone size, gels, keys, acceptable bounce in mm) and any factory constraints on bonding/flatlock or MOQ for trims? Suggestion: Use a body-mapped warp-knit base (nylon 6,6 or microdenier polyester with 7–10% elastane), pairing tighter courses at abrasion zones with engineered mesh/laser micro-perfs at heat zones; bond hems and reserve flatlock for high-stretch seams to cut chafe and weight. Suggestion: Consolidate fabrics, trims, and stitch specs across styles (shared BOM, color standards, tolerances) and lock a reliability test suite (MVTR/RET, CFM, Martindale, pilling, stretch/recovery) to ensure consistent scale-up. Action Plan: - Phase 1: Requirements + targets; size chart; climate/use cases; shortlist fabrics/finishes and request swatches. - Phase 2: Create 3D blocks in CLO; quick virtual fit and motion checks; confirm ventilation map and coverage. - Phase 3: Pattern engineering—articulation, seam map, gussets, stabilized pocket system. - Phase 4: Manufacture-ready tech packs—graded specs, BOM, stitches/threads, trims, tolerances, QC tests Best Regards, Sid

Hi there! Designing high-performance running wear demands precise fabric mapping, seam placement, and ergonomic patterning to minimize drag, chafing, and heat retention under motion. We will engineer streamlined garments with optimized ventilation, stable pocket integration, and complete production-ready tech packs. We also have access to in-house 3D printing, so prototypes can be tested and refined if required. ✅ Do you have initial sketches or reference garments for silhouette direction? ✅ Any preferred fabric types or target GSM for performance balance? ✅ Which sizing range and grading standards should we follow? We can share relevant examples if helpful. We will be happy to address any questions and ensure a smooth project process. Ready when you are. Buildtrix Studio
