Do you want the event diagram saved so it can be edited later, or only used for report output? Should investigators work on same incident together, or one at a time? For reports, should diagram go inside PDF as image, or editable format? I’ve done similar workflow / form based systems before and I went through your description carefully. This is basically incident → events → causes → safeguards → report, with diagram in between. Hi, this is Ambar Shome, I work independently but also run Shome & Associates for larger projects. Can build this using Node + React + Postgres as you suggested. ReactFlow should work for event sequence builder, storing nodes as JSON so it can reopen later. Each incident will keep history, so investigator can change things without losing old data. Need auto-save while building diagram, otherwise users lose work. Report generation better done in background process, not during click. Will keep simple role system (admin / investigator / reviewer). Also need manual edit option for timeline, drag only becomes hard after many events. Files / evidence should go to storage folder, not DB, easier later. Can deploy on cloud VM with backup, nothing complicated. Should incidents allow file attachments per event (Yes/No)?
