I need someone who are familiar with airline policies for refunds after what I call extortion.
I bought an airline ticket on Expedia. When I got to the counter to check-in it was discovered the wrong spelling of the name was on the ticket. At first they told me to correct the problem with British Airlines desk.
At first they told me the flight was sold out. I told them I had a ticket but the wrong spelling of the name was on the ticket. British Airlines made me repurchase my ticket at twice the amount I originally paid. The flight was leaving in approximately one hour so it was either pay double or not get on the flight. I felt extorted.
There original ticket was purchased on Expedia with American Express. I did get flight insurance. The 2nd ticket was purchased on my debit card because I did not have the American Express card with me.
I want the complaint written so I can file the complaint with American Express, Expedia and my debit card. I'm looking to get a refund from one of them.
Someone with success getting refunds for this tip of problem is a plus.
