I have many years of experience working with writers, helping them find their voices. For four years, I taught a Masters Course in screenwriting in my country, South Africa. This was a screenwriting course - but before we even got to writing dialogue, the work was on: tone, style, the writer's voice, character, structure and the themes and premise of the piece. I have just completed a one-year contract with Showmax doing story development and script editing work - helping writers find their voice and style and, with that, fleshing out their characters and consolidating structure and theme/s. I really love doing this work. It's hugely rewarding to engage with new talent and to help writers find and hone their vision. I myself have over 20 years of writing experience - for the screen and for the page - so I have an intimate understanding of the challenges of writing and on how best to give feedback and to guide writers.
