Writing Assistant

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a writing assistant to join our team on a recurring, on-call basis.

You’ll be tasked with working alongside our team - helping to pull ideas out, take notes, masterfully creating articles and collateral. From there you’re free to work your magic and produce drafts and final versions of work that best capture the initial framework.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a word-smith, creator, listener, and self-starter. Our ideal candidate would be a generalist writer with a strong background in quickly producing content across multiple topics. Check out some more details below:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Taking part in content creation sessions with key members of our team to create frameworks for articles and collateral, as needed, all focused on business operations, strategy, and/or the like. Other activities include recording conversations, incorporating poignant statements verbatim, and keeping track of ideas

Dive deeper into the points and themes of these frameworks and pull messages, examples, anecdotes or citations to make content sing.

Translate ideas or processes into memorable messages for varied audiences.

Crank out drafts for review and regularly accept and give feedback.

Incorporate proposed changes and turnaround complete versions quickly.

Manage several different pieces at once and meet strict deadlines.

Masterfully articulate our brand, familiarize yourself with the founding team and capture the voice of our business.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be available on an on-call basis for writing projects.

MUST have proven experience producing written content very quickly across broad topics.

MUST have excellent communication skills, with superb conversational and language skills.

MUST have outstanding problem solving skills and be able a voracious learners.

MUST have superior organizational and planning skills, and pay great attention to detail.

MUST be willing to initiate tasks and perform duties without direction.

MUST be ready to work hard, be teachable, BE OPEN TO FEEDBACK.

BONUS points if you:

Have experience writing for startups, community based businesses and / or tech businesses.

Have experience writing curriculum or speeches.

Have understanding of and/or interest in how businesses, organizations, and communities work (STRONG plus, in fact that’s worthy of an extra 15 bonus points).
