I need a small Python utility that runs on Windows and pulls fresh data from Google Local Maps each day through Google’s own API (Places / Maps). The script should fetch the following fields for every place returned by a search term or a list of place-IDs I provide: • Business name and full address • Average rating and individual reviews (text, stars, author, date) • Opening hours, including “temporarily closed” or holiday overrides After each run the results have to be written to a single, well-formatted Excel workbook—one sheet per search term is fine—so I can open the file without additional processing. Core requirements • Pure Python, compatible with Windows 8/10/11. • Uses the official Google API if possible(HTML scraping is also okay), with a free public API key stored in an external config file. • Handles daily scheduling via Task Scheduler friendly parameters (date stamp, overwrite / append switch). • Gracefully respects rate limits and logs any quota errors for later review. Deliverable 1. Commented .py file(s) ready to run. 2. Sample Excel output showing the expected column structure. 3. A short README explaining setup, required pip installs (e.g., googlemaps, pandas, openpyxl), and how to schedule the daily job. I will consider the project complete when the script runs on my machine, populates the specified fields in Excel, and repeats successfully on consecutive days without manual intervention.

Hi, This is exactly the kind of automation project I work on. I can build a lightweight Python utility that pulls fresh Google Maps/Places data each day, extracts business details, ratings, reviews, opening hours, and closure information, then exports everything into a clean Excel workbook that's ready to use immediately. The script will support both keyword searches and Place IDs, keep the API key in a separate config file, handle rate limits and quota errors gracefully, and include logging for easy monitoring. I'll also add Task Scheduler–friendly command-line options so it can run automatically every day without manual intervention. You'll receive fully commented Python code, a sample Excel file showing the expected output structure, and a simple setup guide covering installation, configuration, and scheduling on Windows 8/10/11. I focus on delivering reliable, maintainable scripts that continue running smoothly day after day. I'd be happy to get started.

Hello! I see you need a Python utility to automatically pull fresh Google Maps business data (ratings, reviews, hours) into Excel—without manual intervention. I’ve built similar Google Maps scraping pipelines before. I can deliver a robust script using the official googlemaps Python client , which gracefully handles API rate limits and retries . To ensure we capture detailed reviews and "temporarily closed" status, I’ll combine Place Search and Place Details endpoints. Your script will include Task Scheduler-compatible date stamps and an append/overwrite switch. Here’s my approach: Config file for API key + search terms Rate-limited fetch loop with error logging Pandas/Openpyxl to write clean multi-sheet Excel workbooks Can you confirm if your free Google API key includes Places API access? Let’s chat further. Best regards, Jeff Chong

Hi there! Your Python utility needs reliable Google Maps data extraction, but most scripts fail due to API quota handling, inconsistent place fields and broken daily automation. If this is not structured properly, you will get incomplete or unreliable Excel outputs. I have built Python automation tools using Google Places API, pandas and openpyxl for structured data extraction and reporting. I also work on Windows compatible scripts with scheduled execution, logging systems and clean configuration handling. I have experience building data pipelines that handle rate limits and keep outputs stable over repeated runs. I will create a clean Python script that pulls Google Places data using the official API with external config key setup. I will structure Excel output with proper sheets, formatting and consistent columns for easy use. I will add error handling, quota logging and scheduling friendly parameters for Task Scheduler. I will ensure the script runs reliably every day without manual intervention. check our work https://www.freelancer.com/u/ayesha86664 Do you want the script to support multiple API keys rotation to avoid quota limits? I am ready to start - just say the word. Best Regards, Ayesha

I looked at your Google Maps data scraper requirement. You need a Python script fetching business name, address, rating, individual reviews with text/stars/author/date, opening hours, and writing to Excel with one sheet per search term. I have 6+ years in Python and Google Places API and over 20 data scraping projects delivered. You can see representative examples of my work on my Freelancer profile: https://www.freelancer.com/u/cuyodigital. Deliverables: commented Python script with googlemaps and pandas, sample Excel output, README with pip installs and Task Scheduler setup. Price is 50 USD for 1 work day. Duration is 1 day. Two questions from the board: Will you provide search terms only, place IDs only, or a mix of both? Do you need all available reviews or only the latest ones from the Places API? Let me know your answers. I can start right away. PS. Have question on the project and I would like you to check the clarification board ricardo

Hi, We are available to take this on and get your Python utility working perfectly. The main issue with automated data collection is usually handling rate limits and maintaining stable connections to the Google Places API for daily execution. Are you planning to use the Google Cloud client libraries for structured data parsing, and do you want the final output to follow a specific column ordering in the Excel workbook for your internal tracking? We recently built a similar automated data extraction tool for a logistics firm that needed to pull recurring location-based metadata. We used Python with the googlemaps and pandas libraries to hook into the API and built a robust logging system that validated inputs before using openpyxl to generate the formatted Excel reports. We corrected their data handling structure to ensure that rate limits were managed efficiently across daily scheduled runs. Our solution prevented data gaps during sync and made the whole reporting process way faster for their team. We are eager to discuss the project further. Reach out to initiate a conversation! Hi, This is Jorge from IT GLOBAL SOLUTION LLC, based in the U.S. I can help build a small Windows-friendly Python utility that pulls fresh Google Local/Maps place data using the official Google Places/Maps API where available, then exports the results into a clean Excel workbook ready to open and review without extra processing. My approach would be to structure the script around a simple config file for the API key, search terms, place IDs, output path, and run mode such as overwrite or append. The script would fetch business name, full address, rating, reviews, opening hours, status details, and available closure information, then organize the results into a well-formatted Excel file with separate sheets per search term or another structure you prefer. I’d include proper rate-limit handling, retry logic, quota/error logging, date-stamped outputs, and Task Scheduler-friendly command-line parameters so the job can run daily without manual work. I’d also keep the code commented and provide a short README covering setup, required pip installs, config file format, and daily scheduling steps. I have experience with Python automation, API integrations, Google Maps/Places data workflows, Excel generation with pandas/openpyxl, web scraping, logging, and Windows-based scheduled scripts. I’d focus on making the utility reliable, easy to run, and simple to maintain. Let’s connect and go over the search terms and output structure. Best, Jorge

For a Google Maps scraper, I would use the Maps API to pull location data on a set schedule and push results to Excel automatically. Pure Python, no extra setup beyond pip, runs clean on Windows. I can start today and have a working version ready in 48 hours. The bid reflects what is in the description. Once we talk through which fields you need and how often it should run, I will confirm the final number. Want to jump on a quick call?

Hi, I can build this small Windows-friendly Python utility to pull Google Local/Maps data and export it into a clean Excel workbook. I have experience with Python automation, Google Maps/Places API, data extraction, Excel reporting, logging, and scheduled scripts for Windows Task Scheduler. I can deliver: • Python script using the official Google Places/Maps API where available • External config file for API key, search terms, place IDs, output mode, and date settings • Extraction of business name, address, rating, reviews, opening hours, and business status • Excel output with one sheet per search term or structured tabs as needed • Append/overwrite option for daily runs • Rate-limit handling and quota/error logging • Windows-compatible setup for Windows 8/10/11 • README with pip installs and Task Scheduler instructions • Sample Excel file showing final column structure I’ll keep the code clean, commented, and easy to adjust later. The script will be designed to run repeatedly without manual work, generate dated outputs, and log issues clearly if Google API limits or missing fields occur. I can complete this as a focused utility and test it with sample search terms before handoff.
