I have developed several for organizations and have update/fixed others. Creating a nonprofit is placing your vision as a written document that will be reviewed for years to come. But what many do not understand, this mission is only as good as it has been written for those in year to come might follow. Also, how it is written will determine clear guidance within it governance or places to stumble. I believe in process and strong communication with an understanding that there will be drafts along with wrestling with language to create the most solid organization. I have started from scratch with individuals with little knowledge to reviewing structure so that organizations may tighten up their process. I have worked with local community as well as new national organizations. I value the helping of local groups creating something that will help their community's to thrive. I look forward to a fuller conversation. I prefer my payment to be one contracted dollar amount. That a portion is paid upfront and the rest when completed. This work can be quick or can take time depending on the people and project. I do not think it is fair to draw out the "hourly" but to have a set amount and complete it within that price. You have a budget. Hourly can become problematic. This project will take some time to create a solid organization from conception to completion. Be mindful of this as you continue to negotiate.
