I need to be able to insert digital countdown timers that show both minutes and seconds, onto powerpoint slides run on a laptop.
This is to be used for a training so there may be multiple timers in a single slide deck - different timers on different slides and right now if I do this with mp4 files they make the ppt deck too large. So it also means I need to find a way to keep the file size manageable.
It cannot rely on an internet connection as that cannot be guaranteed.
The timer must be able to be resizeable and placed anywhere on the slide. Sometimes I need a small timer in a corner, other times a larger timer on half a slide.
It needs to be able to start on click (not start automatically when the slide appears), pause, have a sound at the end (or not), and restart if desired
Ideally, the solution would allow the ability to change the color of the background and the color of the numbers, but if all I can get is B&W I could live with it.
There are a couple of add-ins out there that are close but they only allow for full-screen timers and they are not user-friendly.
There is a widget that is close to what I want (no ability to change colors - but I could live without that) , the issue with the widget is that it lives outside of PPT and cannot be embedded in the slide. [url removed, login to view]
I have created annimated timers on my own, but PPT animation can slow down a file and make it wonky.
I'd really like to find a way to either create something like the widget but be able to add it to slides without increasing file size crazy, or find a way to make very small MP4s.
While I much prefer a timer solution, if all anyone can come up with is micro sized MP4s, these are the timers I would need as a minimum:
1 minute 30 seconds
2 minutes 30 seconds
