We have developed a couple of websites that we are using to both facilitate our medical training business as well as improve some of the job searching for a specific medical niche. We have done this mostly on our own (not developers) with a little help from qualified professionals. We are looking for a person or firm that can work on a couple specific projects and, ideally, be available in the future as we need new projects or tweaks to the site.
Payment terms could be either project based or hourly.
We are based in San Francisco but open to people anywhere in the world, though we have had some language issues in the past, so solid English is needed.
Below is a list of our current projects and the existing sites:
Job Posting on a Map with filtering and lists
We are trying to create maps of available jobs in our market niche. Our current versions can be seen here ([login to view URL]) and here ([login to view URL]).
On [login to view URL] we used Google Maps to load the data; it looks good inside our existing theme but has limited functionality; we have not found any Google map-based plugins that provide the functionality we need. Basically we want to be able to sort and filter on the data presented in the map
On [login to view URL], we are using the Jobify theme to do a similar thing. It has some limitations as a theme, partly that we cannot use our theme from [login to view URL] with it, so are currently doing our best to integrate the two with fairly clumsy work arounds
We also are collecting potential job applicants at some point want to create a view similar to our job listings map. An example is here: ([login to view URL]).
While we do want an interface like this for employers, like with the job openings, we want the ability to sort and filter as well.
We also want the job applicants to be able to create simple profiles, kind of like LinkedIn, with specific information (job experience, education, location, resume) so that when an employer clicked on one of the listings in the map showed above ([login to view URL]) they would jump to their profile. We have been using/assessing both Jobify and Profile manager type of plug ins to try to achieve something along these lines.
Job Listing Imports
We get a lot of the job listings from grabbing the data from other job sites as a syndicator of their listings. We do this view copying and pasting into a parsing template in Excel and will probably do it in Python soon, but know there are many data parsing and importer plugins out there that may simply all or parts of the process. We are working to become publishers for several of the job boards but consider our current efforts functional prototypes.
Look and Feel of site
The sites we have we developed on our own with some help from experts. We are working towards the functionality listed above but also recognize the site does not look particularly “nice”, “slick” or what have you. I consult at a company that uses WordPress and their site looks much nicer. It is a consumer facing site, and is ours, but don’t need it to look quite as nice but thought that getting someone to find a look and feel (can be a standard theme) that is nicer but does not conflict with any of the functionality we need would be great. My client’s site: [login to view URL]
We don’t necessarily need or want the actual video images in the background but it is a much cleaner look and feel than ours.
