Need an artist to create pages for an existing, monthly catalog. Our client recently increased the number of pages and we need an additional person to help.
We are Macintosh based and have been using Pagemaker for the last 15 years, but are moving to Adobe Indesign next month.
We would provide a folder for each page (via FTP or e-mail) containing between 5 and 10 photos along with a text file with each of the products' info, description, price and stock number.
You would then create the page... arranging the items attractively and copying and pasting the photo and its associated type elements. Each finished page is then compressed with Stuffit and the .sit file will be sent back to us electronically for inclusion in the catalog master file.
Before computers, it was called "paste up" but today, I guess, it's graphic design! You will be provided with an Indesign template of the page and all graphic elements needed to create the page. The elements come to you as .sit files compressed using Stuffit. You will need the ability to stuff and decompress files on your computer ([url removed, login to view]).
The deadlines are tight and the work must be completed ON TIME and with great care. This whole thing happens in about a 10 day period each month and there is no room for failure to complete the job on time.
It comes EVERY month, so it's a great job if you're looking for a steady cash flow. The money is not BIG, but it is well worth it for the right person.
It takes US between 20 minutes and an hour to create each page. Occasionally a tricky page may take longer.
We need a mature, professional who is willing to take this seriously. Overseas artists will happily be considered, thanks to the miracle of the Internet.
Prior to sending you the photographs, a Photoshop clipping path is created on almost every photo. If you have that Photoshop skill, we could also include the paths as part of your work.
We perfer a Macintosh bsed person but are willing to do a test run with a PC based artist.
For the first issue, we'd like to have the person do 10 pages.
We are thinking that a fair arrangement would be a "per page" basis at a price of between $15 and $25 per page.
You will have to do a sample page to show that you have the skills needed to do the job. We will pay $20 for your time to create the test page. (samples of the existing catalog pages will be provided as examples of what we want YOU to build.)
The next issue will begin approximately April 24th, 2006
