Hi! I’m Danielle and I’m the owner of Petal to the Metal- a small NYC based jewelry company comprised of recycled metals, natural gemstones & vintage materials. After taking a bit of a hiatus, I am working on re-inspiring my little business and feel a fresh face is exactly what it needs!
My current logo has a leafy/botanical element as well as a hammer commonly used in jewelry making. The whole idea behind my work is essentially that it’s derived or inspired by natural materials. (hence Petal to the Metal) My logo was made a few years ago by someone who didn’t exactly understand what I’m going for so I am trying again!
The best reference for the type of botanical elements I am drawn to are by Ernst Haeckel- Art Forms in Nature. They’re essentially botanical drawings with the best color palates I can think of from about 1900. I love the femininity and softness of the forms which i feel perfectly explain my inspirations.
Basically what I’m looking for is something with simple yet beautiful typography or lettering (forgive me, this is not at all my expertise so I probably sound silly) that combines a floral/botanical element but doesn’t make my business appear to be a florist... like a juxtaposition between floral (soft) and metal tools (jewelry related/ hard).
Thanks In advance and please feel free to check me out at @petaltothemetaljewelry on Instagram to get an idea of my work.
