I am creating an online community for writers, and I bought MemberPress and have BuddyPress, but I do not like bbPress for my forum. I've also tried Asgaros and wpForo which look better, but I'm not real crazy about how they integrate. It looks like users still have to register for the forums again separately from their registration to MemberPress.
I also don't like the look of the basic themes that complement BuddyPress. I want to use a theme like Enfold on the main part of my site! It's gorgeous!
What I am needing to know first is if there is some way you can modify this setup so that part of the site uses one theme and the part that's accessible by members only be another? Or do I need some type of subsite or separate installation?
The second thing I'm trying to find is an awesome forum that will work within Member/BuddyPress. Do you do any other installations besides bbPress that you find your clients really like? bbPress is very basic looking.
My third question is, in your experience, have you found that sites built on MemberPress cannot do well on shared hosting? If not, would you set it up instead on virtual server or does it have to be on dedicated server? If it needs to be moved, I'd much rather do it now than later when I have a bunch of members.
I really need to get this site finished up and would like to know what you would charge to finish it once I'm clear on what you can and can't do in regard to my requests above. For now, I just don't know what my limitations are. Please let me know. Attached is a screenshot of how the home page looks. I don't want the home page to look like this at all.
