Hello! I am a Squarespace website designer in the early stages of building my business. I have basic HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge, however, I am finding that it is not adequate to create my designs in Squarespace. I am looking to work closely with a front-end developer, potentially in a mid- to long-term business relationship. PLEASE NOTE, I will not be responding to a proposal from anyone who has not demonstrated that they have read the following details of this project. I design websites for photographers. I create my designs in Illustrator and then build them into Squarespace. This platform is very restricting in terms of its flexibility to render complex designs. Therefore, I require help from someone with very good knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript to help make my designs come to life. You will be given my design in an Abode Illustrator file and be required to build it using Squarespace. You will access the copy, images and other content using a shared Google Drive. I may have completed some of the work myself and be leaving the remainder for you. YOU MUST: 1. Have exceptionally good English skills (I do not want to spend time clearing up miscommunications due to a language barrier) 2. Have used Squarespace extensively, and understand both the capabilities and the limitations of this platform 3. Be able to make good decisions about when to use the Squarespace features, and when to write custom code 4. Be willing to report back to me very regularly regarding the progress of your work 5. Be able to convert my design in Illustrator into a functioning website on Squarespace (including the ability to export image files, etc.) 6. Be able to follow written instructions (provided via a shared Google Drive) as I will not be arranging meetings or any voice/video consultations 7. Be able to follow web best practises for SEO 8. Be willing to work on a short project, potentially only 2-3 hours I work on a strict three-week timeline for each project, which means I will need someone who is efficient and readily available.
