I need about 10-15 or so illustrations for a book that I am working on titled: An Invitation to Inner Change: Your Path to Power, Purpose and Pleasure. I am watching Alice in Wonderland: Through a Looking Glass, and a documentary about Lewis Carrol, and the writing process he went though when working on his books. I like that he used illustrations in his books.
I would like an illustration for a family scene, when a boy I write about gets scolded (after snapping at his sister) and banished to his room, until he can "pull his act together", "get ahold of himself" and put on his happy face. It is only then that he can rejoin his family. The boy is sent to his room, and has to deal with his emotions of anger, hurt, sadness, misunderstanding, fear, on his own. I would like an image, or a few images showing the unfolding scene, and illustrating the concepts I am trying to teach. Ideally parents can model healthy emotional regulation with their children. I won't go into more depth here about the concepts I am trying to teach, and the illustrations I would need.
I would like an illustration, perhaps similar to a sculpture I've seen of two angry adults sitting facing each other, angry, refusing to talk to each other. Meanwhile the "inner child" within each of them is reaching out in compassion toward the inner child in the other, wanting to connect, and trying to connect.
I would like an image- representing a verse in Scripture, illustrating that the angels are looking from heaven, longing to peer into our lives as humans, curious about us, and with a regard or awe of us as a creation who are different than them.
I might also want an illustration showing that as the Lord went to heaven, he gave his gifts to men. Ephesians 4:8 "When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to men."
I may want an illustration showing that there are hidden treasures that God wants to give His children: Isaiah 45:3 "I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by my name."
I may also want this verse illustrated: Ezekial 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you: I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
I may want this verse illustrated: Malachi 4:6. "He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents....."
I may want the law of sowing and reaping illustrated- with the image of a small snowball at the top of a hill, that rolls down the hill, gathering snow until it becomes a huge snowball.
I may want the law of gravity represented
I may want the gift of forgiveness represented- and a scenario I will explain in the book illustrated, involving a family
I may want an image of deep emotional healing represented- in which a client describes God meeting her in a memory and bringing her reassurance, comfort, love, and truth
I may want symbolic representations of forgiveness illustrated
I may want part of the story of the prodigal son represented- perhaps two or three scenes. Definitely one of the father welcoming the son home and embracing him with a huge embrace.
I want an image of the integration of the Loving Adult Self with the Inner Child- symbolized as the child sitting on the adult self's lap, and resting her head on the adult's shoulder.
These would all be black and white illustrations.
