I would like to create a setup that can be easily used on the field to accurately extract the size distribution and count of agricultural products. The idea a is taking a picture of the products that are somewhat homogeneously distributed (non-overlapping) on a contrasting background with a reference for the size. Preferably the setup should process and save the calculated data on site for future use at a desktop. If that makes things complicated the first step can be taking pictures and analyzing them on a desktop (but not preferred).
After talking with developers here is an updated request:
The project is about counting the mussels in a mussel farm workboat. Workers have to sample the mussels at definite intervals. To complete job they count a certain batch of mussels (200 to 300 pieces) and then they write down an estimate for the median size.
What I need is an iOS app that will count the number of mussels in a picture that is taken from a fixed distance. The worker will arrange the mussels to his best effort so they will not overlap. A sample is attached. A fixed reference can be arranged in the picture frame as per request.
I already have quotations for this work and awaiting your updates. Of course the project estimate is more than 250 USD.
