Industrial design through manufacturing - Viper

We have an existing model called a Cobra see [login to view URL] We want to design and have a company then make a modified version of the Cobra. The plan is to reuse most of the existing parts such as the trigger, the barrel sensor cover, the head sensor domes. However the two main halves of the clam shell design need to be redesigned from scratch and then the tooling done to make 1000 sets. Also need to redesign and retool for a lens assembly which is a tube with an protuding front in safety orange. In total there are 4 pieces to design. We will supply all the opto-electronic parts samples so the mounting points can all be made correctly, most of it will be copying what was done for the Cobra especially all the internal mounting points will be the same. Features include: Weaver rail with the insert for the red dot power supply exactly as the Cobra - copy this from existing design. No need for the peep sight that is on the Cobra which simplifies the design One side of the two shells mounts all the electronics except one switch The shell looks similar to the P90 machine gun, but definitely not a replica, just inspired by - there is room for creatively, like to retain the family resemblance to the Cobra. Product must use an extremely strong fibre reinforced polycarbonate for the very tough environment We will need to include SLA prototype in the design. Design process will include: Conceptual Drawings Block Model Prototype (SLA) Mechanical Design - copy the Cobra trigger mechanism Assistance finding the manufacturer and working with the manufacturer to answer questions All CADS, designs and drawings will be the property of Scapequest Pty Ltd.
