I need an experienced merchandiser who knows the clothing sector inside-out to take over two key areas of my operation: keeping inventory numbers accurate at all times and acting as a reliable bridge between my brand and our manufacturers. Day-to-day you will reconcile stock levels, flag slow-moving SKUs before they become a problem, create purchase orders, and maintain the master sheet so I always have a live view of what is on hand, in transit, and on order. At the same time, you’ll be the first point of contact for each supplier, following up on lead times, negotiating small tweaks to minimums or payment terms, and generally nurturing a stronger, more responsive partnership. Our entire stack sits in Excel/Google Sheets for now, so you should be comfortable building clear dashboards and introducing any formulas or add-ons that help us spot discrepancies quickly. If you have worked with apparel ERP modules (e.g., Cin7, DEAR, TradeGecko) let me know—migrating into one of those platforms is on the horizon and your insight would be a bonus. Deliverables I expect: • A cleaned-up, fully reconciled inventory file for all SKUs (initial hand-off) • A simple supplier status report that highlights open POs, production stages, and any risks • Ongoing weekly updates sent every Friday before close of business Your success will be measured by zero stock-out surprises and noticeably smoother communication with each factory within the first month. Hello, Let me start by stating that I come from a Finance background and have done extensive stock audits during my training days. For any stock management system to work smoothly we need to have the following things sorted out first - 1. Reordering Level 2. Reordering quantity 3. Lead time When it comes to clothing sector my previous exposure tells me a few additional pointers are also valid to assess reordering levels and mitigate risk of dead-stocks / stock outages - 4. Demand Assessment 5. Sudden and seasonal fluctuations What I need to understand the current flow - 1. Your presence - Online, Offline, Both 2. Your presence - Store, Ecommerce website, Ecommerce platforms, Quick Commerce Etc. 3. If you have any existing physical IMS that can give me accurate data flow to start with and then to validate the data at least once every month if not every week. 4. Historic data on stock movement SKU-wise to create a slow-moving / dead stock prediction model. 5. Same for high moving SKUs to predict accurate reordering levels. Ideally the PO generation and reordering should be automated. There are options to do that using two-way integration among multiple Google Sheets. Happy to do that. This source data sheets can be filtered into a single one-window report. Supplier management is the next step, focusing on improving payment terms, MOQ, and credit lines.
