I need someone to modify a JAVA open source software called tagCentric for me. This is a middleware program, as its name imply, the software is a bridge between RFID readers and database. This middleware software talks to RFID readers and feed data from these readers into a database (MySQL). The software is open source, free and very stable. However, there are a few features I would like to have so I need someone proficient in Java to add these futures for me. If you know what you’re doing, I would imagine it would not take you very long. The program contains a “fake” RFID reader function so you don’t really have to have a RFID reader to work on this project. However, we will need to test your final code on my complete RFID setup. The good news is I will be online most of the time to answer your questions or test the software from time to time with you so you will not be alone. The following are the features that I would like you to add to the current tagCentric software.
1. Add “tag report time filter” feature for each reader.
2. Fix the report format on ThingMagic reader (basically re-arrange the report data).
3. Add a custom reader location setting
4. Add Impinj reader support
The first 3 points are pretty easy and can be done in less than a few hours, the last one is a little bit more involve and my require more time. Again, if you are proficient with Java, I think you will be able to handle this project. Since the program is free and open source, you can download it and play with it a little bit before contact me so you get some idea of these four extra features means.
