Develop a Java application (not applet) to catalog your books. Allow the user to enter the ISBN of each book, one after another, just by typing the ISBN number and pressing return. The application must store this ISBN in a persistent way on the hard drive, using a properties file or using JDBC to write to a database. The application must have another thread which looks up these ISBNs on a Web site like [url removed, login to view] or Amazon.com. For each ISBN, open a URL connection to the Web site, request information about that ISBN, and parse the response into the following fields: Author, Title, Publisher. Your application must save these fields along with the ISBN on the local hard drive. Your application must also have a GUI interface which allows the user to browse the list of titles. This GUI interface must allow the user to select a title and delete it from the list and from the persistent store or database.
Instead of using a local persistent store in the previous problem, have your application save the data on a remote server. Require the user to enter a user ID and password and validate them on the remote server before giving access to the data. The remote server can be implemented as a Java servlet, remote JDBC database or other Java network technology.
