You could also call the project: Kitchen Table Analyser
Out kitchen table is a complete mess and I want to know why!!!
You need to write a software that would track and identify all the elements on my kitchen table constantly. You would help me identify the correct cameras that I need to install for the tracking, probably high quality with zoom. The software would analyse constantly from two angles and make 3D models of all objects and store them in a SQL database. (I will write my own SQL queries) It would track time. I would name the object modelled in 3D but it should do some sort of machine learning to get smarter and recognise more. How long does an item stay on the kitchen table and when was it removed or moved? Things can be stacked on top of each other, it must remember what is underneath. it must be able to make distinction between object even though they are clustered together. When was it removed? it must learn new object and I will name them. It must screen out any human movement. It should also be able to learn a new object from close up, zoomed in and then recognise the object at distance. You need to be able to identify small object as well. People will be walking with objects in their hand. This should be tracked if possible.
Let’s assume that all object are rigid and does not change shape. There would be some fluffy toys and other things that can bend, but most of the object would be rigid.
As the time of day change, shade will change and lights will come on in the evening. The software must be able to know what an object could look like in different lighting. I would suggest machine learning again. No point it things that a cup under lights is a new object.
Combine the feeds from the two cameras. We can do three if you need it.
Accurate 3D modelling
Camera specification: The cameras need to be small and not intrusive. Who wants a big camera in the kitchen?
Example. I just took two low quality photos, just to show you what it looks like. The camera feed should be much better. Same table, two angles. This is not a joke, this is how mykitchen table looks on a good day!
