I need help with signing a certificate for Java applets that were written for me many years ago, to support a physics textbook I wrote. At present, the only way anyone can get them to run is to add them to the security exception list in Firefox, but I don't want people to have to do that. I'm not familiar with Java myself, or with running a server. I need someone who can walk me through the process, and perhaps talk with the IT folks at my university who are running the server where the applets are hosted. I understand that I may need to pay to purchase the certificate from a company such as Symantec. I've attached a file that has the 3 applets I need to get certified. Note that I want the applets to run from within the user's browser, rather than forcing the user to download and unpack a .jar file. I'm willing, if necessary, to move the applets to a server on some host company.
