This is somewhat an urgent project as I am looking to having it delivered by the end of the week. I have designed a sketch that we would like to be built into a dreamweaver-based template. There will probably be editable regions for meta data, page title, and the content area. As you will see in the sketch that the navigation is fixed and there is a need for it to have a roll-over state. The directions are below designated by letters that match what's on the sketch. With a template I can just create all the pages that are needed for the website.
One major item that needs to happen is a pop-up and I am open to suggestions as how to accomplish this. I am against using flash for this because many of us do not use flash and we will need to make edits to this popup. More information on this aspect is given below.
Another item of concern is the shadow around the box which is a requirement to have and there are a variety of ways to achieve this. Again, we are against flash for this feature as well.
We would like the page to be styled in CSS and all of the styles to be contained in a CSS file and not within the webpage. Within the CSS we would also like styles developed for alpha, numeric, and regular lists, i.e. <ol>,<li>.
I am enclosing just jpeg files right now. In a day or so I will enclose a layered file. I created the sketch in Ulead PhotoImpact but I can change it into a Photoshop file for your convenience.
An important requirement is for the webpage to be fully functional and working in the following platform/browsers:
Windows IE6, IE7
Windows Google Chrome
Macintosh Google Chrome
We would like to see examples of similar work done to help us make a decision. Again, this is a project that we would like delivered at the end of the week so it would be semi-urgent. Thank you for taking a look.
A. This is the background for the page. It fades into a standard color. All of the graphics will be supplied.
B. This is the logo/title for the page and we are open to suggestion on how to have this appear such as using a PNG file for transparency.
C. This is the navigation for the webpages and "home" will always have the active state of the brown square. As you will see there is a piece of the building the is in the nav area and we would like this to be in the webpage as well. For the navigation as a whole, we would like done in CSS.
D. I am not sure yet where this link will appear but for now let's have it next to home. When the user clicks on demographics, we would like a popup appear as shown in D2. This is a map of Sandoval County in New Mexico,USA and there are a number of communities that you see in bold black. As the user hovers over any town it will show a small box that we will be able to put in a the town's name and x number of links. When I was thinking about this I thought this could be accomplished with image maps.
I would like to add that we may be adding or removing towns in the map so it will be useful for us to understand how the winning bidder accomplishes this.
E. This is just to note the shadow that appears around the box that is a requirement.
F. As you can see the content area is limited. When there is more text than can fit into the content area, a custom scrollbar will automatically appear. Here is a link to a custom scrollbar that we really like -
[url removed, login to view]
My question for this is: can there be a condition to allow for this scrollbar to only appear if the content exceeds the allotted space?
So in the template as we are adding text and it exceeds the alloted space, then the scrollbar will appear, otherwise it will not appear.
G. For the user to print a page, this is the graphic to be used to do this. Perhaps there could be a print style sheet that will just make a blank page with the content. We are not concerned with having the design displayed on a hard copy. We would like the logo and the footer included.
H. This is just the footer that we would like to appear on every page. Perhaps that could be an include file.
