JavaScript Sort

This project is as follows:

Our custom templating system takes data fed from a mysql database and replaces the variables in an html file with the data based on the query. Queries are either generated via mod_rewrite or a search page.

I'm looking for a simple javascript function that will sort the results of data outputted to a table from a search function. I've tried several of the solutions available (sorttable, sortable, etc..) and none of them really work with outputted data.

I need a solution that works with my system.

This project has to be finished by the end of this week.
