I have a function that substitutes a swear word for a funny word. See attached "function Substitute()". Example: Substitute("Fuck off","fuck",[1,2],["duck","cluck"],1);
This function used Regular expressions and the word-boundary operator \b, which unfortunately does not work properly in foreign languages with accented characters. Anything outside of a-z or A-Z is considered a word-break.
Resource: [login to view URL] provides a code library for Unicode.
It is too complex for me to understand. I'm willing to pay a freelancer to spend the time to understand how it works, and then use it to rewrite my function Substitute, so that it works in foreign languages.
My function Substitute divides the task into 3 types: 1= match anywhere, 2= match a word with a word-boundary before and after, 3= match a word-boundary at the start.
Inside each type, I subdivide into lower case, Capitalized, ALL CAPS and Mixed Case and try to output using the same style.
Summary: Success means you provide me with the parts of the XRegExp library to include/load, and provide an edited version of function Substitute that will work, using this library, and able to handle accented words from Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi. (all are Unicode UTF-8)
