Web-browser and c++ sample apps that communicate through websockets with libsoup

I would like sample applications that communicate with each other with websockets. A Firefox extension client application (javascript) should communicate with a c/c++ server application. The browser extension should use the Mozilla websocket API, and the c/c++ application should use the libsoup websocket library. The connection must be secure (SSL/TLS). The client should connect to the server, then transmit a text message. The libsoup server should read the message, echo it and transmit additional text back to the client. The client application should not have more than a manifest file and a background javascript file. The server should not have more than a main file. It is preferable that the applications be as short and simple as possible. The source code of the applications must be provided, and I must be able to run and test the samples on my system.
