Hello! I am in need of some assistance with a project for my website.
Our goal is very simple. We wish to utilize Joomla and Fusion, to create a 'central' account system for Vbulletin 4.0, and CPG (Coppermine Photo Gallery) 1.5. We require the ability to control the 'group' permissions of Vbulletin, and CPG, from Joomla. That is, if we 'mirror' the permission groups in all 3 (Everyone, Registered, Mod, VIP, Admin for example groups) if I moved someone from Everyone, to VIP in Joomla, they would then be moved from Everyone, to VIP in the Forums and Gallery, and granted the proper 'permissions' of the group they are moved to!
We are attempting to do this for two fairly simple reasons:
1. We want to make logging into our site simple and easy for users. We do NOT want to have to have folk using 2-3 different accounts across the various parts of the site, as it's well, sloppy and irritating in general for obvious reasons. :P
2. we are aiming at making a 'Reward system' for folk who Donate. Just small little perks as a 'thank you', such as access to Donator specific boards on our Forums, or the ability to utilize keyboard navigation in our Gallery for example, which both, are controlled based on the group the user is in!
We would also, if possible, like some advise on if it would possible to set it so Donations could automatically assign individuals to groups. Example: [url removed, login to view] donates 1$ through the Joomla system for Donations, and is then, moved to the Donator Group automatically.
If we could go even further, making it so a donator would be REMOVED from the Donator group after a set time. Such as 1$=30 days, after the 30th day passes, they would be reset to 'Everyone' group for example. Yet if they donated 2$, it would give them 60 days (2 months) donation 'perks', and then reset them to Everyone after 2 months, etc. If that functionality is possible – it would be GREATLY helpful if you could detail to what extent this is possible, and how difficult it would be to do!
I apologize for the lack of 'specifics' – I'm still very knew to Joomla, and not sure of the Information required, but will happily provide anything needed here upon request! :)
Thank you for your time!
and of course, you may quite obviously, pm me here! :)
