I am UK-based and run The Environmental Illness Resource website ([login to view URL]). I have been doing this for 15 years as I am chronically ill and cannot work a 'regular' job. The site is my only source of personal income so of vital importance.
I use SiteGround Cloud hosting and they last week migrated my site from cPanel / WHM to a new 'SiteTools' based site management system - breaking my site in the process. The domain is with GoDaddy.
The site is running Joomla 2.5 and the issue I need fixing seems restricted to the SEF Advance component/plugin I use for SEF URLs. I have attached a screenshot of the site as it is displaying now with error messages repeatedly referring to only lines 289 and 187 of the SEF Advance [login to view URL] file. I believe there is some conflict with the Let's Encrypt SSL system provided by SiteGround for SSL/HTTPs connection and SEF Advance also, which may be causing the issue.
I am looking for a Web Developer who is very experienced with Joomla! 2.5.x, PHP, Apache - and ideally the SEF Advance component to take a look at this and determine the cause and if needed - create a fix for the lines of code implicated in the component's [login to view URL] file - so the error messages on the front end of the site disappear and Let's Encrypt functions correctly to provide full HTTPS connectivity and display the padlock.
However, I had planned to update the site to Joomla 3.9.x in the next few months anyway. So, if the above issue is unable to be fixed easily without causing further problems - I am open to making this a much bigger project and upgrading to Joomla 3.9.x now - with migration of the database required, new template and component installations, PHP update etc. The site would need to look as close to how it does now but with a modern template and other components using the latest technologies.
I must mention the site as it is has also had issues with user registration / login and broken section/category structure - due to a previous developer leaving the 2.5x update half finished years ago!
I am happy to work with a developer of any nationality as long as you are fluent in English - and as stated - very experienced with all Joomla! versions and the technologies they use.
I hope someone out there would be happy to work on this. If you are able to fix the issue as it currently exists, I would hire you again to do the full site update to Joomla 3.9x in the coming months. A bit of incentive for you!
If Option 1 is possible I would like the job done as quickly as possible...
If you genuinely advise updating to Joomla 3.9.x is really the only feasible / realistic option - then the job will have to start next Wednesday as I have my young daughter for a few days from Sunday.
Thanks for considering my job and I look forward to working with you soon.
