House and area:
The house and property is approached down a steep driveway, so the house resides below the street level. The property is a sloping block with excellent district views from the rear of the house and deck. The extensive gardens do not enhance the property. The entrance to the property needs transforming into an eye-catching feature that creates stature and ambience of the house, some stairs from the road down to the house are needed along with a front fence of no higher than 1.2m. One side of the front of the property is fenced to 1.8m, the other side needs fencing to 1.8m. From the house to the rear of the block also needs new 1.8m fencing however already has some dilapidated fencing in place.
Existing garden observations
Plenty of space for development of garden features;
Nice soil which warms up quickly in the spring and promotes plant survival over winter;
There are views from all areas of the house and deck to the garden.
There are large trees that cannot be removed that already surround the property;
The driveway and existing paved areas are outdated.
Once side of the property has a Lillypilly hedge the other side has the same hedge that has not grown so will need to be replanted.
The front gardens are being cleared except the hedge and trees that can’t be removed. The overgrown area that sits below the flat backyard is also being cleared.
Scope of work:
We want a re-design of the whole garden, incorporating the existing hard landscaping and certain significant trees that cannot be removed. A number of suitable plants and trees have been provided to assist.
We want retain the existing hard landscaping areas however incorporate new material, so replace, in particular the new patio paving front and rear. There is potential for more paths and stepping stones to link the house to any new features.
A pool design at the rear of the yard is to be incorporated. Half the back yard is flat, before the yard drops off by 2-3 metres with this part overgrown and to be cleared, so a pool with deck would make better use once cleared.
There is potential for additional wooden structures, such as arbours, pergolas and arches within the garden.
We would like a sculpture or two.
We have a large stainless fire pit.
Some idea of plants has been provided.
We would appreciate feature lighting within the garden, there is already driveway lighting as per the pictures.
Looking for an all encompassing Landscape Design including;
I am able to take some drone shots over the property as well to assist etc.
