My server's dns is controlled by MYDNS.
Yesterday, I had a mysql problem, which was fixed when another freelancer moved mysql to a less crowded hard drive sector. However, for some reason, mydns seems to have gone missing. Now, when I try to start mydns using the command: service mydns restart, I am getting an error message saying 'unrecognized service'.
Further, if I check under /ect/init.d, the mydns file is nowhere to be found.
The mydns database is still present in phpmyadmin and appears to be fine. It has almost 500,000 records, as my server hosts over 100,000 domains and subdomains. (Text based sites used for SEO)
So, I am looking for someone who is VERY familiar with mydns and can check it and make it operational again without in any way damaging the existing database.
To clarify, the partition, not sector as mentioned above, where mysql was residing was at 99% capacity. I believe this is what stopped mysql from functioning. After another freelancer moved mysql to a different partition, it was once again fully functional.
Mydns was also functioning perfectly before the issue with mysql. Now, my system can't even find the mydns service.
