Hey there! 1st: I have AWS experience and less on AZURE. Used openVPN on many occasions and know that it can be configured to autoreconect at logon and also some options to detect connection interuptions and reinitiat a reconection once detected. Can be done but not 100% sure there won't be any problems. 2nd: I know that AWS offers migration services and that probably the case on AZURE too; Why bother do it old fashion way? 3rd: by migrating 'MySQL from server1 on Azure to server2 in Azure" you mean you want to terminate the server1 after migration or to do you acctually want to replicate it for HA reasons?
