Looking for some help to upgrade a debian 7 server to version 9.
Went through the updated to version 8 and it broke apache and our rails app.
When trying to restart apache get this error:
[FAIL] Restarting web server: apache2 failed!
[warn] The apache2 configtest failed. ... (warning).
Output of config test was:
apache2: Syntax error on line 140 of /etc/apache2/[login to view URL]:
Syntax error on line 2 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/[login to view URL]:
Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/modules/[login to view URL] into
server: /usr/lib/apache2/modules/[login to view URL]: undefined symbol: ap_rputs
Action 'configtest' failed.
We use passenger so looks like something is conflicting with the upgrade.
I've reverted a snapshot and the server is back on debian 7.
Also looking for the steps to be documented so that we can apply the same steps to another server with a mirror setup.
The issues is holding up a project and hoping someone has time to start right away on this.

I have 6 years experience on setup linux servers. In your case, apache for example, you have miss config in upgrading and you should compare clean debian 9 with 7. we can talk about it and fix it.
