I have a machine with Ubuntu (Using Cinnamon desktop in place of Unity - not relevant for issue).
I have a VPN server for work, it's OpenVPN. I can connected to it fine with OpenVPN from my desktop, jailbroken iphone, etc.
On my UBUNTU machine, I installed network-manager-openvpn but it does not work properly. It will connected to the VPN, I can navigate fine for 1-2 minutes and it gets an IP from the server but then the internet stops working. Nothing except server is pingable.
So I decided to try GopenVPN instead. That is the same but after 1-2 minutes, I can still navigate to websites based on their IP, which indicates GopenVPN just has a DNS issue. Of course, I verified /etc/[url removed, login to view] is not an issue, I examined routers (routes -n) and don;t see any issues.
If I uninstall network-manager-openvpn and reinstall it 5 or 6 times, it will work 1 time out of those 5. I have had the VPN connect fine for an entire work day no issues, but lately the issues are all the time.
Whomever can fix this ... please. I have no problem paying for this + leaving good feedback. It should be a QUICK fix, you can have teamviewer access. So please bid fair.
