Hi,
I'm testing out RackSpace Cloud servers.
Very cool, but everything is command line Linux, which I am weak in.
We can make a server using many flavors of Linux. Including Fedora 14, archlinux 2010.05, Centos5.5, Debian 5.0 (Lenny), Fedora 13(Goddard), Gentoo 10.1, Ubuntu 10.04/10.10/8.04.2.... which ever you think is best.
I need someone to setup anonymous proxy software so I can access USA Websites from outside the USA.
## Deliverables
Hi,
I'm testing out RackSpace Cloud servers.
I need someone to SSH into the server and do the following:
1) Watch the video at:
[login to view URL]\_hosting\_demos/cloud\_computing\_cloud\_servers\_setup
In it the guy does basic Linux setup, but he goes to fast for me.
2) Do the stuff he setups in the video
3) Install Squid (or if you think we should use a different proxy software) and configure it.
A tutorial is found at <[login to view URL]>
[][1]
[][1]
4) We should be able to watch [login to view URL] (which requires a USA ip address) through this proxy.
What I am looking for is a Linux Geek that REALLY knows this stuff.
About You:
* You know Linux VERY Well.
* You are responsible.
* You have worked with Proxy servers before preferably Squid, or you can recommend a different proxy software package
* You can answer this question: "If I use this proxy on my server to access [login to view URL], does the video use up the server's bandwidth, or does the proxy make a direct connection between [login to view URL] and the visitor"
* You will be available for future work and in case of emergency situations. I have team members who have worked with me for several years.
============================
So please reply with the following:
A) How many years experience with Linux you have
B) Which flavor of Linux we should use
C) Which proxy software (Squid, TinyProxy, lighttpd, ZipProxy, etc)you have installed & configured and which you prefer
D) Answer the question: "If I use this proxy on my server to access [login to view URL], does the video use up the server's bandwidth, or does the proxy make a direct connection between [login to view URL] and the visitor"
I hope to do much work with the right expert.
Thanks,
Barney
