# DanKen Industrial Group ## Request for Proposal: OEM Cost Engineering, Factory Cost Reverse Engineering & Toll Manufacturing Architect DanKen Industrial Group is seeking an experienced professional or firm to help develop a **true OEM-level cost engineering and toll manufacturing system** across multiple product categories, including enclosed cargo trailers, custom golf carts, wheels/rims, and related fabricated or industrial components. This is **not** a traditional sourcing or quote-comparison engagement. We are specifically looking for an expert who can **reverse engineer supplier and factory manufacturing cost at the true production level**, determine what products and components should actually cost at wholesale OEM levels, and help DanKen build a **premium-quality, low-cost toll manufacturing model**. Our objective is to understand the **real factory cost structure** behind products, parts, and assemblies, including raw materials, labor, machine/process cost, overhead, scrap/yield, tooling assumptions, packaging, logistics, and supplier margin. We want to use that knowledge to identify markup layers, cost inefficiencies, and sourcing opportunities, then redesign the supply chain and manufacturing structure so DanKen can produce **premium high-quality products at the lowest realistic OEM cost** without sacrificing quality, repeatability, or scalability. ## Scope of Work The selected expert should be able to support the following: * Reverse engineer supplier and factory pricing down to the manufacturing-cost level * Build detailed **should-cost** and **clean-sheet cost models** * Help define and validate **target-cost objectives** * Break down cost by: * raw materials * process/conversion cost * labor and cycle time * machine time * overhead * tooling * packaging/logistics * supplier or factory margin * Map supply chains across **Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3** * Identify where markup stacking, trading layers, and inefficiencies exist * Recommend **direct-buy, toll-manufacturing, or hybrid sourcing structures** * Help design a toll-manufacturing model where DanKen controls selected materials, key components, specifications, and BOM structure, while approved factories provide fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, assembly, or other conversion services * Support cost-based RFQ and negotiation strategy using reverse-engineered factory cost and should-cost data * Recommend engineering, sourcing, and process improvements that reduce cost while protecting premium product quality ## Key Objective A major goal of this engagement is to help DanKen build a manufacturing model where we are **not simply buying fully marked-up finished goods**, but instead controlling the cost architecture and paying factories primarily for **efficient conversion and production services**. We are looking for an expert who can help us answer questions such as: * What does this product or component truly cost at the factory level? * How is the supplier building its quote internally? * What are the real cost drivers behind the quoted price? * Which parts should remain supplier-produced, and which can be direct-sourced or toll-manufactured? * How can DanKen achieve **premium product quality at aggressive target cost**? ## Product Categories in Scope Initial categories may include: * enclosed cargo trailers * custom golf carts * wheels and rims * chassis and structural assemblies * fabricated industrial components * related parts, modules, and subassemblies ## Expected Deliverables Deliverables may include: * supplier/factory cost reverse engineering reports * OEM should-cost models * target-cost strategy and cost-gap analysis * product and process cost breakdowns * supply chain / reverse-sourcing maps * toll-manufacturing framework and responsibility matrix * direct-buy vs toll-manufacture recommendations * supplier/factory evaluation recommendations * cost-reduction roadmap ## Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking an individual or team with strong experience in: * OEM cost engineering * supplier/factory cost reverse engineering * should-cost modeling * target cost engineering * manufacturing process costing * reverse sourcing * toll manufacturing or contract manufacturing strategy * value engineering / cost reduction Preferred backgrounds include: * automotive * trailer manufacturing * powersports / golf carts * wheels / rims * industrial fabrication * OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments ## This Opportunity Is Not Intended For This engagement is not intended for: * general sourcing agents * trading companies * procurement-only specialists * quote collectors * applicants without meaningful manufacturing cost-analysis experience ## Engagement Structure DanKen is open to: * pilot project engagement * milestone-based execution * ongoing advisory support * long-term strategic partnership ## Closing DanKen is building a scalable, multi-product OEM manufacturing system based on **cost engineering, reverse sourcing, factory cost visibility, and toll manufacturing strategy**. We are seeking a serious expert who understands how to uncover true factory-level cost, engineer products toward aggressive target cost, and help build a manufacturing structure capable of delivering **premium high-quality products at the lowest realistic OEM cost**. If your background aligns with this type of work, we would be interested in reviewing your qualifications, methodology, and proposed approach.

Hi, I reviewed your requirement for OEM cost engineering, factory cost breakdown, and target cost strategy, and I believe I can support this work with my hands-on experience in manufacturing costing and cost reduction. I can share a sample forging/sheet metal cost breakdown if required I have 3+ years of experience in: - Should costing of forging and sheet metal components - Cost breakdown (raw material, process, conversion) - Supplier quotation validation - Cost reduction and VA/VE initiatives I have worked on identifying real cost drivers and optimizing supplier pricing, which aligns with your requirement to understand true factory-level cost. While my core strength is in detailed component-level costing, I can contribute effectively to: - Cost breakdown modeling - Supplier cost analysis - Identifying cost-saving opportunities - Supporting target cost evaluation I am highly interested in expanding into OEM-level cost engineering and would be committed to delivering structured, practical, and data-driven outputs. I would be glad to support this project and collaborate closely. Looking forward to your response. Thanks

Coming from a diverse background with a strong focus on technical troubleshooting, drawing, project design, supply chain management and a recent MBA in Organization Strategy & Leadership, I bring a unique set of skills and expertise that make me the ideal candidate for DanKen Industrial Group's OEM Manufacturing and Cost Engineering project. Over the course of my 8+ year career, I have built an extensive portfolio of experience in reverse engineering, clean-sheet cost modeling, supply chain mapping and toll manufacturing optimization. At the core of your project requirements is understanding the true cost structure behind your products. This goes beyond just raw materials or labor costs – it encompasses every aspect from materials through to supplier margin. With my skillset, I can successfully dissect these cost elements, identify potential inefficiencies and weaknesses within your supply chains, and recommend improvements while maintaining premium quality. Moreover, I possess an innate passion for efficiency-driven strategies which align perfectly with your goals. My expertise lies not only in identifying areas where trading layers or cost-inefficiencies occur but also in recommending well-informed strategies that strike the balance between lowest possible OEM costs and maintaining top-notch quality. Together, we can build a manufacturing model where you have greater control over price architecture without compromising on product quality.

Hi, there You’re aiming to break the cost barrier in OEM-grade production while preserving premium quality across trailers, golf carts, wheels, and fabrications. I have spent the last 4 years solving exactly this type of problem: reverse-engineering true factory costs to build should-cost models, and architecting toll-manufacturing structures that deliver premium outcomes at aggressive cost. I will start by mapping exact cost drivers (raw materials, conversion costs, labor, cycle times, machine time, overhead, tooling, packaging, logistics, and supplier margin) and then reconstruct a transparent should-cost framework for each product family. Next, I’ll design a toll-manufacturing model with clear BOM ownership and critical-material controls, enabling DanKen to capture value from efficient conversion rather than marked-up finished goods. Finally, I’ll establish a cost-based RFQ strategy and a tiered supply chain plan across Tier 1-3 to identify direct-buy vs toll opportunities, plus a rollout roadmap to scale. ✅Scope of work - Reverse-engineer factory costs to the manufacturing level - Build should-cost and should-target models across product families - Define toll/manufacturing structures and BOM ownership - Develop cost-reduction roadmap with risk-managed trade-offs ✅Deliverables - Supplier/factory cost reports, should-cost models, and target-cost gaps - Toll-manufacturing framework and responsibility matrix - Direct-buy vs toll recommendations and ramp plan I can start

Hi, I went through your requirements, and this is not a sourcing task, it’s a deep cost-engineering and manufacturing strategy build that requires full visibility into factory-level economics. The approach here has to be structured, clean-sheet cost models, reverse-engineered pricing, and supply chain mapping that exposes markup layers and real cost drivers across Tier 1–3. I can support building should-cost models, defining target-cost strategies, and designing a toll-manufacturing framework where you control BOM, materials, and cost architecture while factories focus on efficient conversion. The key is not just analysis but translating it into actionable sourcing and negotiation leverage without compromising product quality or scalability. Once we connect, I’ll walk you through a practical methodology and share relevant work aligned with OEM-level cost engineering. Quick question, do you want to start with a pilot product category or analyze multiple in parallel? Best regards, Muskan
