French-Speaking Offshore Hydraulic Technician / Engineer – Congo Rotation x2 vacancies

We are currently looking for an experienced French-speaking Hydraulic Technician / Engineer to support offshore operations on board a vessel, FPSO, drilling rig or semi-submersible unit in Congo. The successful candidate will be a senior hands-on hydraulic specialist with strong offshore experience, capable of working as part of an international team while also supporting, training and mentoring local Congolese hydraulic technicians. Key Responsibilities The role will involve carrying out maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and technical support for hydraulic systems and associated equipment on board. The candidate will be expected to work safely and professionally in an offshore environment, support local technicians, and ensure a high standard of workmanship and reporting. Candidate Requirements • Extensive offshore hydraulic experience with proven hands-on knowledge of HPUs, valve control systems, actuators, accumulators, tubing systems, filtration units and associated hydraulic equipment. • Minimum 10+ years’ experience working on offshore assets such as FPSOs, drilling rigs, production platforms or marine vessels. • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities on hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems. • Experience carrying out maintenance, commissioning, flushing, pressure testing, servicing and system upgrades. • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, P&IDs and technical documentation. • Previous experience working in West Africa or challenging offshore environments is highly desirable. • Fluent French language skills, both spoken and written, are essential. • English language proficiency is preferred. • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, train and develop junior African technicians and transfer knowledge to local personnel. • Capable of producing clear technical reports and communicating effectively with clients and offshore management teams. • Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance with international offshore standards. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. • Previous experience with major operators, EPC contractors or OEM hydraulic system manufacturers would be considered an advantage. • Strong focus on teamwork, professionalism and delivering quality service to the client. Required Certifications and Documentation Candidates must hold valid offshore certification and medical documentation, including: • Offshore Medical Certificate, OGUK or equivalent. • BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS. • Valid passport with sufficient validity. • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. • Any additional Congo entry requirements as applicable. Rotation and Contract Details • Rotation: 30 days on / 30 days off. • Initial contract duration: 6 months. • Contract may be extended based on project requirements and performance. This position is ideal for a senior hydraulic technician or engineer who has strong offshore experience, can lead by example, and is willing to support the development of local Congolese technicians while delivering safe and reliable hydraulic maintenance services offshore.
