Loop Antenna Tool Kit using Matlab

Small Project Title I: Antenna Design Toolkit with Matlab GUI for Loop Antennas

Project Description :

It is required to develop conevtional wire antenna design program using Matlab GUI as

described in the classroom following the step by step design procedure. The program

should follow the design steps and produce the following outputs :

1- Determine the vector potentials A , A , and F , F .

2- Find radiated E and H fields for

- Reactive Near Region

- Radiative Near Region

- Far field Region

3 - Then, in these the regions identified above, the program should calculate

- S - Poynting Vector

- Wrad - Radiation Density

- Prad - Radiated Power

4 - For Far fields, the program should calculate

- D - Directivity and Do - Maximum Directivity

- En - Normalized Field Pattern

- Fn - Normalized Power Pattern

- Plot normalized power and field patterns

- Rr - Radiation resistance

- RL - Loss resistance

- RA - Antenna Resistance

- XA - Antenna Reactance

- ecd - Antenna Radiation Efficiency

- er - Antenna Reflection Efficiency

- eo - Total Antenna Efficiency

- Pin - Radiated Power

- G - Gain of the antenna

- Aem - Maximum Effective Area

- A - Beam Solid Angle

- HPBW - Half Power Beamwidth (in degrees)

- FNBW - Full Null Beamwidth (in degrees)

For the given parameters of :

- Current Distribution

- Program should enable user to define the current distribution

- Constant uniform or any other form

- F (MHz) - Frequency,

- Type of loop antenna

- h (m) - height of the antenna from ground plane

- Wire dimensions ( diameter=a in mm)

- b (in mm) =loop radius and N - Number of Turns, c - spacing

Assume copper is used.

Project Deliverables :

- Short Report in MS Word format with Test Case such verticial dipole and

monople, etc.

- Matlab Code
