Need to develop patient focused content which guides patient on what to do about certain medical conditions such as diabetes.
The Medical writer will drive the scope and preparation of physician and patient education alerts and documents, including identifying topics of interest to Persivia customers. The medical writer will identify new topics and write, review and perform substantive editing of these documents.
The Medical Writer is responsible for maintaining and growing a library of patient education related content in the form of physician, care manager and patient directed alerts as well as patient education brochures written at the 5-6th grade level. The Medical writer works with the product team to identify the topics of interest by gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and work closely with the Persivia team.
On a day to day basis, the Medical writer is expected to:
Define the scope and roadmap for medical writing
Edit clinical team’s alerts for grammatical errors and easy readability
Develop and maintain a list of patient education documents
Write and edit these documents
Bachelor’s degree in science, health profession, or journalism required.
At least 5 years experience writing for healthcare, pharma or biotechnology required.
Knowledge and Skills
Basic understanding of health related topics and terms
Well-developed oral and written communication skills; ability to clearly present technical information within and across functional areas.
Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions within functional and cross-functional teams and with external providers.
