Microsoft 365 Copilot / AI Architecture Knowledge Repository Overview I am looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Copilot / Microsoft Copilot / Azure AI developer or architect to help design and implement an AI-powered Architecture & Enterprise Knowledge Repository. The objective is to create a centralised knowledge solution where I can ask natural-language questions about our technology, architecture, systems, projects, designs and documentation, and have the AI retrieve and analyse information from multiple approved data sources. For example, I would like to be able to ask questions such as: "What is the current architecture for this system?" "What integrations does this platform have?" "What are the key risks associated with this architecture?" "Based on our existing architecture documents, what would you recommend for this new requirement?" "Compare the current and proposed architectures." "Find all documents relating to this application." "Create a High-Level Design document based on the existing architecture and requirements." "Identify gaps or inconsistencies across our architecture documentation." "What dependencies does this solution have on other systems?" "Create an architecture decision record based on the information available in the repository." The solution should be capable of searching across multiple documents and information sources, synthesising the information, and producing useful answers or documents rather than simply returning search results. Potential Data Sources I would like the solution to support, where technically and securely possible, multiple information sources such as: Microsoft SharePoint sites SharePoint document libraries OneDrive Microsoft Teams / Microsoft 365 content where appropriate Local document repositories/files GitHub repositories Architecture Repository Use Case A key part of this project is using the solution as an Architecture Knowledge Repository / Architecture Assistant. I would like the AI to understand and make connections across different types of architecture information, including: Business requirements Functional and non-functional requirements Solution architectures High-Level Designs Low-Level Designs Architecture diagrams Desired Capabilities The final solution should ideally provide capabilities such as: 1. Natural-language Q&A I should be able to ask questions in normal language and receive answers based on the approved knowledge sources. 2. Cross-document analysis The system should be able to retrieve information from multiple documents/sources and synthesise the information into a coherent answer. 3. Architecture analysis For example: "Review the existing architecture for System X and identify potential integration, security, scalability and resilience issues." 4. Recommendations Where appropriate, the system should be able to propose potential architectural options based on the information available, clearly distinguishing between information found in the repository and AI-generated recommendations. 5. Document generation The system should be capable of generating documents such as: High-Level Design documents Architecture Decision Records Technical proposals 6. Source traceability A very important requirement is that answers should identify where the information came from, ideally providing links/references back to the underlying SharePoint, Confluence, GitHub or other source documents. 7. Security and permissions The solution must respect the permissions of the underlying repositories and avoid exposing information to users who are not authorised to access it. 8. Knowledge management I would also like advice on how the repository should be structured and governed so that the AI can provide reliable answers as the volume of documentation grows. Microsoft Technology Microsoft Technology I am particularly interested in understanding what can realistically be achieved using the Microsoft ecosystem, potentially including: Microsoft 365 Copilot Copilot Studio SharePoint Microsoft Graph Azure AI / Azure OpenAI Azure AI Search Power Automate Microsoft Fabric where appropriate APIs/connectors Custom agents RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) Other Microsoft technologies that you consider appropriate I am not simply looking for someone to create a chatbot. The goal is to create an AI-powered enterprise architecture knowledge and reasoning assistant that can securely access approved organisational knowledge, reason across multiple sources, answer architecture questions with traceability, and assist with creating professional architecture documentation. Please include in your proposal: Examples of similar Microsoft Copilot / Azure AI / RAG solutions you have built. Your recommended architecture for this use case.

Perfect Match “BUILD A SECURE ARCHITECTURE KNOWLEDGE REPOSITORY THAT CAN REASON ACROSS APPROVED ENTERPRISE SOURCES” I can design this as an enterprise RAG architecture rather than a basic chatbot. I’d evaluate Microsoft 365 Copilot/Copilot Studio, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, GitHub, Azure AI Search and Azure OpenAI based on your permission, traceability and cross-document requirements. The architecture would preserve source permissions, provide citations back to documents, support cross-source reasoning, and separate retrieved facts from AI-generated recommendations. I can also structure the solution for HLD/ADR generation and future knowledge governance. Recommended approach: start with a focused MVP covering SharePoint + GitHub, then expand to Teams/OneDrive and additional sources after validating retrieval quality and security. Looking forward to work with you

Hello, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer specializing in RAG-based systems and AI assistants integrated with enterprise data. I've built solutions combining Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Microsoft Graph that respect permissions and provide source traceability. I understand your needs: an architecture reasoning engine synthesizing information across SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and GitHub, answering complex questions, and generating professional documents with full traceability. The permission model is critical—users see only answers based on authorized content. I recommend a layered approach: Azure AI Search as your indexing backbone, connected to Microsoft Graph for SharePoint and Teams content, plus custom connectors for GitHub. Layer Azure OpenAI on top with a RAG pipeline that retrieves relevant documents, ranks them by relevance, and grounds responses in actual sources. Copilot Studio or a custom interface serves as the frontend. Permission filtering at the retrieval stage respects your underlying access controls. The main technical challenge is retrieval quality. Architecture questions require synthesizing information across multiple document types. We'd need careful chunking strategies, semantic ranking, and prompt templates distinguishing between repository facts and recommendations. Document generation would use structured prompts for consistency. Two realistic considerations: maintaining quality and freshness as documentation grows requires governance arou

Hello, I can build an AI architecture assistant that connects to your Microsoft 365 data sources while maintaining security and traceability—unlike generic chatbots that just return raw search results. I’ve helped a client set up a similar system using Azure AI Search and Microsoft Graph, where we linked SharePoint and OneDrive to answer architecture questions with document references. I’d approach this by using Azure AI Search for structured data and RAG for unstructured documents, then integrating with Microsoft Graph to respect permissions. The system will analyze cross-document relationships before generating answers. This will help you make faster architecture decisions by pulling insights from multiple sources, not just repeating existing documentation. Once the system is live, I’ll document the setup and provide a governance guide for maintaining it as your team grows. If this approach makes sense, I’d be happy to discuss how to scope the project further. Thanks, Lazar.

Hi, Abror here, from Uzbekistan. I'm a full stack developer with 8+ years of experience working with AI Integration, AI Development, and API Integration. I understand you need an enterprise architecture assistant that can reason across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and GitHub content, with permission-aware retrieval and source traceability. The real challenge is preserving repository permissions while synthesising multiple architecture documents. A common issue: RAG answers become unreliable when source ownership, citations and document versions aren't controlled. My approach: first, map approved sources, permissions and architecture-document types. Then, design the Microsoft/Azure RAG architecture and retrieval flow. Finally, define traceable answers, HLD/ADR generation and governance. I've worked with AI integrations and APIs, so I watch for access-control gaps and unsupported assumptions in generated architecture advice. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 - Must users inherit source-level SharePoint permissions? This determines the retrieval and identity architecture. Q2 - Azure AI Search + Azure OpenAI or Copilot Studio? I recommend comparing both before committing to the repository design. Q3 - Is the initial repository mainly UK/EU organisational data? I can account for GDPR and data-governance requirements early. Happy to go over the details here in chat and suggest the best approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, there. "ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE AI ASSISTANT" - you need a secure knowledge layer that can reason across SharePoint, Microsoft 365, GitHub, and architecture documents with source traceability. I’d structure it around Microsoft Graph, Azure AI Search, and Azure OpenAI/RAG, with Copilot Studio where it adds value. Documents would be indexed with metadata and permissions preserved, while answers would cite the underlying sources. Architecture analysis and document generation would use retrieved evidence rather than treating the LLM as the source of truth. I’d start with a focused MVP covering SharePoint + GitHub, then expand to Teams, OneDrive, additional agents, and document generation after the retrieval and permission model is validated. Can you confirm whether your Microsoft 365 tenant already has Copilot Studio and Azure AI services enabled? Looking forward to working with you.

Hello, I’m an IBM Certified AI Engineer with hands-on experience building RAG-based AI systems, knowledge retrieval solutions, and AI-powered SaaS applications. I understand you are not looking for a simple chatbot. The goal is an enterprise Architecture Knowledge Repository that can securely retrieve information across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, GitHub and other sources, reason across documents, provide traceable answers, and generate architecture documentation. I would propose: Data Sources → Secure Connectors → Document Processing → Azure AI Search/Vector Search → RAG → AI Agent → Citations & Document Generation The system can support: * Natural-language Q&A with source citations * Cross-document and architecture analysis * Current vs proposed architecture comparison * Risk, dependency and inconsistency identification * HLDs, ADRs and technical proposals * Permission-aware retrieval and governance I have built RAG systems myself and currently develop an AI SaaS platform focused on knowledge retrieval and AI assistants. I’m also IBM Certified AI Engineer, with training in ML, Deep Learning, Computer Vision and RAG/LLM technologies. Before implementation, I would review your Microsoft 365/Azure environment, licenses, data sources and permission model to determine the best approach using Copilot Studio, Azure AI Search + Azure OpenAI, or a hybrid architecture. I’d be happy to discuss the architecture and MVP with you.

Hi, The integration of AI assistants like GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot into enterprise workflows requires robust orchestration and context management to deliver reliable user experiences. The main technical risk is ensuring consistent retrieval and response quality across multiple platforms with varying data contexts. I have led the design and implementation of DocIntel AI, a document intelligence platform that leverages LLMs for structured event extraction and retrieval-augmented generation, which parallels the core challenges of building an enterprise AI assistant. I typically design systems by separating ingestion, retrieval, orchestration, and response layers to isolate complexity and enable scalable testing and deployment. Early validation of context handling and intent resolution will be critical. To improve reliability, I implement grounding checks, confidence thresholds, and fallback routing to reduce unsupported answers and maintain stable user interactions. I can start by outlining the agent workflow and mapping integration points with the Copilot platforms to clarify architectural needs. Thanks, Clifton

Hi, I’m a Principal Software Engineer with 20+ years of experience in AI architecture and enterprise knowledge workflows. I have gone through your specific requirement for an architecture knowledge assistant. I’d use Azure AI Search with RAG rather than rely only on a general Copilot chat, since you need cross-document reasoning with traceable source links and access controls. I would build a Python retrieval service connected to approved SharePoint and GitHub sources, with Microsoft Graph handling access-aware content retrieval. Then I can add architecture Q&A, document drafting and clear separation between sourced facts and AI recommendations. I can send relevant project details and code samples privately. Do you already have Microsoft 365 Copilot or Azure subscriptions and a preferred tenant setup? Which sources are in scope for the first release, and do you need Confluence included alongside SharePoint and GitHub? Do you have existing HLD/LLD templates and architecture governance rules the generated documents must follow? Free for a quick call? Or answer here and I will map out the first architecture. Hi there, I understand the core challenge is creating a secure enterprise knowledge architecture that can connect Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, GitHub and other approved sources, preserve source permissions, retrieve the right evidence across documents, and reason across that evidence with traceable answers. I’m confident I can architect this as a production-grade RAG and agent system, not another chatbot layered over a document search. My approach will be to first map your repositories, identity/permission model, document structures, metadata and architecture use cases. Then, I’ll design the ingestion and retrieval layer using Microsoft Graph, Azure AI Search and appropriate indexing, chunking and metadata strategies with security-aware retrieval. Next, I’ll build the reasoning layer for cross-document analysis, architecture comparison, dependency/gap detection, recommendations and HLD/ADR generation, while clearly separating sourced evidence from AI-generated conclusions. Finally, I’ll implement citations, source links, evaluation/grounding checks, governance and scalable knowledge management. Would you like the solution designed primarily around Copilot Studio/Microsoft 365, or should I evaluate a hybrid Azure AI architecture for greater control and extensibility? Let’s architect the knowledge layer correctly first, then turn it into a scalable enterprise assistant. Warm Regards, Aneesa.
