Greetings, I am a reseller for four manufacturers. I have a potential inventory of approximately 6-7K items. All the product info comes to me in (5 to 8) different Excel spreadsheets, although one vendor has API available.
I would like to have all this information put together in one Access DB. I need to be able to export all this information in csv.
There are approximately 12K items on the spreadsheets, but there are dupes because certain products can go in multiple categories. I need the dupes removed.
My ecommerce solution (Volution) recognizes the categories when represented numerically, but I would like the DB to show it in plain English and as a numeral. To reduce manual input on my end, I would like to, for example, automatically make assign all "Widgets" to category ID 001.
The import interface for my store recognizes specific column names, example "vendor_partno" so I'd need to be able to specify an export format, but view the database, in plain English. For the record, I am a total database novice - and happen to have Access as part of the MS Office suite.
