I would like my MS Access database updated and linked to the Xero accounting system API. The system is dated needs a revamp it is currently Access 2010. I have an electrical appliances business in Manchester UK est 1989. www.mostonlaneappliances.co.uk. The API link is a requirement of HMRC. The database is very basic but I would be interested to know what it could potentially do for me. We enter 150-200 jobs each week, customer details and job history are displayed along with sales.
It is important to be able to quickly enter jobs as I own and manage the shop and the one phone line can get very busy. Nothing too elaborate is necessary. I hired a company a few years ago and it was taking up to five minutes to book a call/sale. Presently if the customer gives their address I can book in a minute as I have all the information recalled immediately.
The whole look of the database is very dated and I would like something more user friendly as I find it difficult to show newcomers all its quirks.
I am open to any suggestions from someone who has experience of this type of project.
A very clear homepage which is easy to navigate, along with invoicing facilities, reminders of outstanding invoicing to landlords and agencies would be needed.
Any suggestions regarding further improvements would be welcome.
