I am part of a community protection organization. We have a huge problem with home and farm invasions and murders in our country (South Africa). I require a cost effective Android application to autonomously record and send unauthorized movement video clips to a whats-app group. Existing applications exist on the play-store, but I need one modified to suite our needs.
I intend using Bluetooth i Beacons to disable video sending for authorized movement. If a previously paired I-beacon is present in an adjustable signal strength range, the video clip sending is disabled.
It will be preferable if both front and back cameras of the android cell phone could monitor simultaneously. I propose a split-screen video clip sending function and/or the clips to be send one after the other.
An Android cell phone would be mounted in a wall or pole weather proof box and a small solar panel will keep the device charged. This means that unused display damaged cell phones could be utilized to detect unauthorized motion and send video clips and/or photos to a whats-app group. This will notify the group members of a possible threat if an I-beacon is not present.
Up to 3 External cameras would also need to be supported via WiFi and/or the mini USB port.
I have done some research to manufacture a standalone device, but it would be more cost effective to utilize cheap or unused/damaged android cell phones. Please see the attached document.
